The Chairperson of the Women’s League Board, Hillary Boateng has appealed for support for Hasaacas Ladies ahead of their participation in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Hasaacas Ladies will be representing Ghana and the sub-region in the competition after winning the qualifiers held in Cote D’Ivoire earlier this year.
The team recently appealed to corporate Ghana and government agencies to solicit for funds as they embark on the trip to Egypt for the competition.
According to Hillary Boateng, the team after their remarkable achievement last season which saw them winning the treble deserve better and has called for support ahead of their participation in the tournament.
“I believe they will put Ghana on the map, and for that they deserve some recognition,” she said.
“This team has achieved a lot over the last few years and they have received some support from certain quarters but we need to do more.”
She also explained that since CAF would only cover accommodation there was a lot left to be covered.
Hasaacas will play their opening game of the competition against Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea on Friday, November 5, before facing AS Mande (Mali), and Wadi Degla (Egypt) in their remaining games.
