Ever since KK Fosu, Ghanaian veteran Highlife artiste, returned from hibernation, there has been an unseen competition between the veteran artiste and Bisa Kdei. Perhaps, KK Fosu wants to redeem his lost Highlife glory which has swerved into the hands of Ghana’s finest contemporary Highlifer, Bisa Kdei.
In a recent interview, KK Fosu recounted that Bisa Kdei once run away from a show because he was also billed to perform on the same stage.
Bisa Kdei and KK Fosu were billed to perform on the same stage in Navrongo at an event organised by Happy Man Bitters. However, Bisa Kdei did not appear for the show with an excuse that he went out of the country to perform.
But speaking to Delay, KK Fosu indicated that Bisa Kdei run away from the show because he is afraid of him.
“Some of the current highlife artistes run away from their shows when they know I am on the same show because they know I am good and better than them. They are not good, I am far better and even with my inconsistency, I am able to move the crowd than they do”.
According to him, Bisa Kdei is a weak artiste who cannot stand the sight of him moving the crowd hence the reason why he did not show up.
He called on the artiste to work on his craft because he is very poor on stage indicating that the power of a highlife artiste is his craft on stage.
“Bisa says he is taking highlife to the world but I think he does not have what it takes to do that. If he wants to put highlife music on the world map, he should work at getting what it takes. His stage performance should be worked on. We should not be only good at the studio.”
