To climax the second week of e.TV Ghana’s Made In Ghana Month dedicated to celebrating Ghanaian food, e.TV Ghana is set to hold a cooking contest between ten celebrities at the forecourt of e.TV Ghana on Saturday, September 14, 2019.
Celebrities Feli Nuna, Xandy Kamel, Foster Romanus, DJ Advicer among others will be expected to cook a three-course meal to showcase their culinary skills to their teeming supporters.
Some of the celebrities have promised ahead of the cooking contest that they will cook sumptuous local dishes such as Banku and Okro Soup, Fufu and Light Soup and Yam with Garden Eggs Stew, Tapioca Pudding,’ Atadwe milk’ among others.
Programs Manager for e.TV Ghana, Mrs Nosisa Doe laid out the objectives of the Made in Ghana Month celebration.
“The Made in Ghana Month seeks to increase positive attitudes towards the patronage of Made in Ghana goods and services. As a brand, we have been celebrating indigenous Ghanaian industry for the past seven years.
Last year we had an inter-regional cooking competition and this year, celebrities will do the cooking. It is going to be exciting and very informative because our celebrities will be cooking a three-course meal, authentic Ghanaian Starters, main meal and desserts and most of us did not know that we have starters for example but we do and we need to project that to the world’’ Mrs Doe said.
Mrs Doe is also of the opinion that eating healthy, unprocessed meals is important to boost healthy living which in turns leads to increased productivity and economic development.
”it’s not about just cooking tomorrow but about eTV Ghana and selected celebrities using their voices to encourage healthy eating habits” she added.
According to Mrs Nosisa Doe, there will be three categories for scoring the celebrities; taste, timeliness and neatness with the winning celebrity choosing a charity of his or her choice within Accra for e.TV Ghana to support with donations.
The e.TV Ghana Made in Ghana Month was successfully launched on the 5th of September, 2019. The first week of the Made in Ghana Month was dedicated to the celebration of Ghanaian music.
The third week starting from 16th September to 21st September 2019 e. TV Ghana will air a documentary about authentic Ghanaian fashion designers and their works to give viewers an idea about the range of fashion accessories that are produced here in Ghana.
