Gabonese head Coach, Partice Neveu would be absent from the touchline when the Panthers face the Black Stars of Ghana in their second Group C game.

The Frenchman is set to isolate from the team for about 10 days after he returned a positive COVID-19 test.

Gabon would be itching to follow in the steps of Cameroon as they seek to be the next team to qualify for the knockout stages with a win over Ghana.

The Phanthers recorded a 1:0 victory over debutants Comoros in their previous AFCON outing at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé.

Assistant coach Anicet Yala would return to the dugout after missing the first match and will be charge of the Panthers against Ghana.

Gabon will also be without, Sidney Obissa Mboumini, Kevin Mayi, Lloyd Palun and Gilchrist Nguema who also tested positive for COVID-19.

However, captain for the side Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mario Lemina, after missing their opener game against Comoros have retuned negative tests and would be in contention for selection in their match against Ghana.
