It might seem strange to those that believe pyjamas are an integral part of sleeping, but sleeping naked is a very popular way for Brit’s to sleep. In fact, a survey found that around 30% of the UK population sleep naked regularly.
This goes to show that, for some, it’s the key to a good night’s sleep, which is just one of the reasons why you may want to consider sleeping naked.
More steamy sex
Sex is a great form of exercise and a stress reliever. If you and your partner regularly sleep naked next to each other, the likelihood is that you’ll have more sex than you would when wearing those restrictive PJs.
Men’s fertility
A study from the National Institute of Child Health and Development at Stanford University found that men who slept in the nude instead of wearing boxer shorts or briefs had a 25 per cent lower rate of damaged DNA in their sperm than men who did wear them. Fertility may decrease as sperm gets overheated.
Improves relationships
Sleeping naked promotes intimacy among couples. Close contact with a significant other can massively boost the amount of oxytocin in your brain. This hormone is the neurotransmitter which helps you feel those impulsive good feelings to your other half.
Get closer to your partner
Having skin to skin contact with your partner releases the happiness hormone, oxytocin. Some of the biggest benefits of oxytocin are that it can help to alleviate stress and depression, reduce blood pressure and help with gut inflammation. Of course, all these positive things also help with sleep, meaning you get all these benefits on top of quality rest, as well as the feeling of being closer to your partner.
More refreshed mornings
Often when you wake up from a night’s sleep in your preferred form of pyjamas, you feel clammy and sticky from sweating during the night. Reserve the pyjamas for those menstrual days.
