Bladjai in need of potable drinking water
Diarrhoea and other water related diseases loom in the Kpandai district of the Northern Region.
The district is without potable drinking water and Bladjai is one of the most affected communities in the district.
The two thousand population of Bladjai have lived on one mechanized borehole for many years.
Unfortunately, the borehole has broken down, leaving them to depend on the populated river Oti for their basic needs. This has exposed them to all forms of diseases.
Assembly man for the area, Kingsley Ogan in an interview with e.tv Ghana news attested to the fact that the breakdown of the borehole had resulted in water borne diseases especially among the children in the community.
Illegal fishing activities have led to serious pollution of the river Oti.
The lack of potable water here means other communities are also going to be affected by the outbreak.
