Nkwanta North and South youth agitate over poor road network
Residents of Nkwanta South and Kpandai Districts of the Volta and Northern regions are threatening to punish government at the December polls if roads linking to their respective districts are not repaired.
The residents want government to immediately construct the roads linking the two districts.
The poor nature of the roads has made transportation from one community to another within the two districts very challenging. The road networks are dumpy, dusty.
The roads which are inaccessible especially during the rainy season cuts off the two districts.
The youth of the two districts say they have received several unfulfilled promises from politicians.
Eric Boateng, a motorist who shared his plight said the road from Pepesa to has not seen any ongoing construction works after efforts were made years back to link the two districts.
Farming is the main occupation in the area and farmers have to walk several miles to their farms due to the unavailability of vehicles.
Their biggest fear, however is that they may not be able to transport their farm produce in the near future.
