"Woyomegate" scandal; Woyome seems unperturbed

The man in the centre of the controversial judgment payment of GHS51 million, Alfred Agbesi Woyome seems unperturbed although he has received negative public press lately.

For months now, businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has dominated news in Ghana for allegedly defrauding the country.

While that is yet to be proven, many would have thought that the overwhelming negative public press received by Mr. Woyome would psychologically affect his involvement in politics.

However, the NDC financier remains an active part of his party’s activities. e.tv Ghana news caught up with him during the NDC parliamentary primaries held in the Volta Region over the weekend and the man whose name has been making the air waves since 2010 does not seem bothered.

Updates on the controversial GHS51 million judgment payment to Mr Woyome keep making it more interesting and confusing hence politicians and the public’s quest to know more in the “woyomegate” saga.

But how does the man in the centre of the whole saga feel about his alleged fraud against the state.

If the just ended NDC parliamentary primaries is anything to go by, then one would not be far from right to say that Alfred woyome cannot be bothered.

The man, who many would think should be hiding by now, was clearly seen showing solidarity for his party primaries.

Alfred Woyome was in the Ave Avenor constituency where first Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Doe Adjaho received a popular acclamation to lead the constituency to the next elections.

He came as a national executive supervisor to monitor the process, a clear indication, the criticism against his judgement debt claim is not in any way hindering his active role in the party.

He also visited the South Tongu constituency to show support for his brother and incumbent MP, Kwabla Woyome, who emerged winner.
