DSP Tehoda charged for stealing cocaine
A Circuit Court has remanded the top police chief, DSP Gifty Mawuenyega Tehoda, in prison custody to reappear on February 6, 2012. She has also been charged with abatement of crime and stealing of cocaine.
According to an Accra-based radio station, counsel for the defence, Oliver Dzeble was not present when the court remanded DSP Tehoda but another lawyer who held in brief for Dzeble, however, offered no objection.
DSP Tehoda was for weeks held in BNI custody for her alleged involvement in the cocaine-turned-baking soda saga and was granted bail by an Accra Human Rights Court after which she was rearrested by the BNI the following day.
