President Mills media interaction; Ghanaians express disappoinment in media

A section of the public has expressed disappointment in the manner in which the media took turns to question the President on issues of national interest at yesterday's media interaction with the President.
Their expectations that matters of national interest which were pressing on their hearts would be put forward to the President by the media.
This year's encounter with the media which had the resemblance of previous interactions in the manner in which questioners were selected was directed by the Director of Communications at the presidency, Koku Anyidoho. In the end many with very important questions were left unanswered.
One of such unanswered questions was the October 2011 floods which wiped out many lives and properties. To those who fell victim to the unfortunate incident, they were expecting to hear the governments permanent solution to avert any such occurrences in the future.
Other issues such as Black Stars participation in the African Cup of nations, the President's continued rejection of the Jubilee House as the seat of government among others were also not asked by any journalist.
e.tv Ghana news took the issues to the public to find out whether the topics raised on their behalf by the media met their expectation. We found that out of every ten people approached at random; just one took time to listen to the interaction which was aired live on the national broadcasting station, GTV.
For some of them this was because the Ghanaian media lacks the idea to generate fresher issues. Some even knew what questions were going to be asked even though they did not watch or listen to the interaction
Some Ghanaians also demanded to face the president themselves since they had lost confidence in the media, whilst others were not the least impressed with the President's responses to the Woyome saga.
However, some were really impressed with the President's responses to the questions.
