Billboard opposite Accra Mall causing inconvenience to passers-by
It’s nearly five months since e.tv Ghana news broadcasted public concerns over a billboard which has been sited on a pedestrian walkway near the Accra Mall.
With three follow ups in-between, the billboard remains on the walkway while the AMA refuses to comment on even though a recording of the stories have been handed to the city authority.
The giant billboard has been a source of inconvenience to pedestrians who use the walkway.
One cannot lose sight of the importance of billboards to draw the attention of passers-by. However, the location of some of them has become a source of worry to many people.
One of such inconveniences is a giant billboard located opposite the Accra Mall on the Spintex road. The huge billboard is not friendly to tall people, thus causing them to knock their heads against it.
e.tv Ghana’s consistent reportage drew the attention of city authorities to the situation. However, officials of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly say nothing can be done about the location of the billboard because of a court injunction imposed on them in a case brought by the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG).
But until the giant billboard is removed, people who use the walkway will continue to suffer the inconvenience of bending or hurting themselves.
