Woyome sympathizers accuse top NDC members
Accra, 8th February, 2012
A group of NDC sympathizers demanding fair trial for their party’s financier, Alfred Woyome, have cited the Committee for Joint Action (CJA); a pro-NDC group for Mr. Woyome’s predicament. Despite their allegation, the group has failed to provide names, contrary to earlier threats to do so.
The Free Woyome Movement had promised to expose some top members of their party who they claim were responsible for sacrificing Mr. Woyome to cover up their own involvement in the GHC51 million judgment debt payment. A leading member of the group, David Tamakloe speaking at a Press Conference in Accra said the group is not yet ready to mention names but they hope such people stay away from the matter.
“We are not mentioning names. We are asking those hands to be off the case. They should stop manipulating the case. We are going to mention names later.”
Mr. Tamakloe however in an exclusive interview with e.tv Ghana said the people who are allegedly fomenting trouble for Woyome are powerful members of government and CJA. Some CJA members in government are Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports designate Omane Boamah, Edward Omane Boamah and the EOCO boss, Mordey Akpadzi.
It is however unclear if these are the individuals the group is referring to. The group claim the rights of Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome were violated when he was arrested and that is a clear breach of the law.
