GAEC and Lands Commission accused of illegally selling Onomrokor family land
The Chinese company at the centre of the Ghana Atomic Energy destruction last week is accusing the Lands Commission and the GAEC of illegally selling lands in the area.
The land has been at the centre of controversy between the Anomrokor-Adin Family and the Atomic Energy Commission.
The Anomrokor-Adin Family came out strongly last week to claim ownership of the Atomic area lands.
According to the family, the government Advisory Committee released the land to the family in the year 2000. The committee recommended that the released land should be developed into an estate for the benefit of the family. However, this has never been done
The family accused the Atomic Energy Commission and the Lands Commission of conniving to sell the land to individuals.
Anaina International had their offices and equipment torched after the Atomic Energy Commission accused them of encroachment on their land. The company says it has invested an amount of $five billion on the disputed land.
