President Mills sacks four MDCEs
President John Evans Atta Mills has revoked the appointments of four Municipal and District Chief Executives.
The four are Thomas Osei Bonsu, Asante Akim North Municipal Assembly, Thomas Kwakwah, Ahafo Ano South District Assembly, Sherif Nii Otoo Doodo, Ga South Municipal Assembly and Kwadwo Osei Asibey, Sunyani West District Assembly.
In a statement signed by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, said by virtue of Section 243 (3) (b) of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and Section 20 (4) (b) of the Local Government Act 1993, Act 462, His Excellency the President had revoked the appointments of the four DCEs with immediate effect.
"In the case of Mr. Kwadwo Osei Asibey, DCE for Sunyani West, H. E the President has directed that he should be re-assigned to the Ghana Education Service as a director," the statement read.
However, the statement did not give any immediate reasons for the President's action.
