Let elections 2012 be free and fair- Assemblies of God Church tells EC
As elections 2012 gradually approaches, the Assemblies of God Church is demanding fairness from the Electoral Commission (EC) in order to forestall confusion that may arise as a result of perceived bias towards one party or the other.
Ghanaians will in about 12 months head to the polls to elect a leader for another four year term.
Even before active campaigning begins for the vote, the Electoral Commission’s biometric voter registration is drawing some controversy.
During his visit to the Kasoa branch of the church yesterday, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Ghana, Reverend Dr. Paul Frimpong warned against any acts that would destabilize the country before, during and after the elections.
He condemned the recent phenomenon where politicians use media platforms to cast insults against their opponents and urged the media to give a total blackout to politicians who have a history of insults in the media.
