Happy FM & Mega Screen bring fans the ultimate AFCON 2012 experience
Happy FM, Ghana’s number one sports radio station, is set to thrill football enthusiasts during this year's AFCON. In collaboration with Mega Screen Ghana Limited and e.tv Ghana, Happy FM is excited to bring all the action live to Ghanaians, during the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2012).
Come January 21st, the forecourt of the Jamestown Mantse’s Palace will be turned into a soccer village, as part of preparations for the AFCON 2012. Happy FM will run live commentary on matches, whilst e.tv Ghana’s Fans Zone crew will offer interviews, match analysis and viewer comments. Mega Screen Ghana Limited, leaders in giant screen technology, will broadcast the matches live on a giant LED screen.
Charles Osei Assibey, General Manager of Happy FM, said that “Happy FM remains steadfast in supporting the development of sports in Ghana. We want to give Ghanaians a feel of the Nations Cup like never before in our support for the Black Stars, who we hope will bring the cup home.”
Mr. Assibey further noted that the collaboration with their sister entities, e.tv Ghana, the fastest-growing television station in Ghana, and Mega Screen Ghana Limited, would help them to set the standard and even raise the bar in delivering only the best viewing and analysis for the much-anticipated tournament.
The opening match of the tournament between Equitorial Guinea and Libya in Group A will be broadcast to open the Soccer Village. All of the Black Stars’ matches as well as some selected matches from the group stages will be shown. Furthermore, all quarter-final, semi-final, third-place and final matches will also be broadcast live.
The Soccer Village initiative is the first of its kind put together by Happy FM, e.tv Ghana and Mega Screen Ghana Limited, all brands of Global Media Alliance.
