Global Media Alliance recognises employees' hard work

altGlobal Media Alliance honoured its employees at a Christmas-themed dinner ceremony and, as the saying goes, all is well that ends well.

The ceremony, now in its third year, was used as a platform to celebrate the Christmas season and to also recognize employees who have, during the year, performed their duties with exceptional diligence and commitment.

The GMA Christmas Party, as it has been dubbed, saw all staff from Global Media Alliance and other companies under the wing of GMA like  Happy FM, e.tv Ghana,  Silverbird,  Mega Screen, Anigye FM,  and YFM stations representing.

Hosted by Eddy Micah Jr and Natalia Andoh, it was a night of merry-making, reconnecting with old colleagues and fraternzing with familiar faces outside of the oft-stressful working environment. Dancing was obligatory as was having fun with the bosses and line managers.

The party was spiced up with performances from some staff members notably with Fafa Sabah (host of The Big Screen on e.tv Ghana) leading a troupe of calabash players. Aqua Stunzenaite of GMA Human Resources recited a folk Christmas tale and Philip Oyinka, or GMA Public Relations, wowed the crowd with a self-composed poem. Eddy Micah risked the wrath of management by impersonating senior management but it was all taken in good spirits and Eddy Micah is still employed.

Later on, awards were given to deserving employees who over the year have contributed immensely to the development of their various companies.

In all 33 awards were  given with 20 going for special recognition, 10 for employees of the year from the various units and three going for Performance excellence awards. At the end of the day e.tv’s JOT Agyeman, Fred Smith, Winifred Ampiah, Juliet Ansu Yeboah, Fati Shiabu Ali, Georgina Mensah and Christal Jeanne took home respective awards.

The party came to a climax with the cutting of the cake and the afterparty at the Excel Nite Club. But the story will not be complete without mentioning how some of the employees enthusiastically exhibited their azonto dancing skills. It was overwhelming to see the top bosses attempting to outazonto one another, leaving with the impression that whilst they may be boss in the office, on the dancefloor they command no respect whatsoever!

e.tv Ghana, therefore, congratulates all award winners and wishes all staff under the GMA umbrella a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
