Film producers wage war on piracy
The Distributors Association in collaboration with the Film Regulatory Board and the Film Producers Association have waged another war on the increasing incidence of piracy in the country.
Unlike previous ones where the three bodies worked hand in hand with the police to arrest pirators, the three boards have employed people to help in their routine checks in an attempt to arrest the culprits.
They would also provide hotlines for Ghanaians to help them in their quest by reporting individuals they find pirating movies.
The group who were represented by the PRO of Film Producers Association of Ghana (FILMPAG), the President of the Distributors Association and other executives members of the Association at a press conference, also listed stringent measures like putting codes on their movie CD’s and also creating an insurance fund where members are expected to pay a levy to have their works protected.
