Ghana goes "loud" with Yfm

It was as loud as it could be at the dome of the Accra International Conference Centre where over 12 Ghanaian artistes kept the audience on their feet dancing throughout.

Unlike last year, the audiences of Y fm, 107.9 were made to vote for their favourite artistes via text. In the end, 12 artistes were selected to perform on the night.

Kaki, the only female dance hall artiste came to perform a couple of her singles. Later on kech3 were on stage performing their hit tracks including pressure and sokod3.

Raquel in a red outfit as if to say she meant business also thrilled the audience especially with her new song, chocolate. Jay Ghartey of ekb records also came on stage and later on, “long time no hear” Kweku T came to join him doing some free style beat box rapping.

VIP as usual stunned the audience with Promzy revealing his perhaps Christmas hairdo. The resurrected Buk Bak, took the audience back into time before their spilt and in no time they brought them into the present with their new hit Koolon.

After Dr. Cryme performed for about 15 minutes, Eazzy came on stage and was later joined by Zigi to perform their new dance song.

Samini proved why he is the king of live stage performances by his energetic display of his songs and something that can be termed as “current occurrence fee styling” where he uses ongoing events among the audience to sing.

Okyeame came next miming some of his songs with a touch of adowa thus veering from the normal rhythm of hiplife music. He did not leave without singing one of the favourites of Ghanaians, faithful, which he sang with Bertha of Stars of the Future fame.

Loud in GH, an initiative of Y fm Ghana was a success last year and even better this year even though the patronage was a bit on the low. It was definitely worth the stand as almost every artiste on the bill did a great job. Hopefully, next year will be even bigger.
