From “Ghallywood” to “Goldenwood”

Organizers of the maiden ‘Miss Ghallywood Beauty Pageant & Talent Hunt’ to ‘Goldenwood Beauty Pageant & Talent Hunt’.

According to the organizers, West Coast Entertainment, the move is to avoid any court injunctions between them and the owner of the Ghallywood Film Acting School, William Akuffo, who has registered Ghallywood as his bona-fide property.

It is worth mentioning that the movie industry in Ghana is not Ghallywood as most movie fanatics in the country have termed it. The name Ghallywood is rather the name of the film academy which is located on the Tema-Prampram road stretch.

The event which was launched in September this year seeks to discover upcoming actresses and make them movie stars and celebrities.

The organizers have already unveiled prizes at stake for the first three winners. If the pageant   pushes through successfully, it would be the first beauty pageant that would seek to unearth movie talents.
