Dzifa Smith gives birth to third girl

We at e.tv Ghana are delighted to announce that Dzifa Smith, until recently host of the Late Nite Celebrity Show, has given birth to a baby girl.

Dzifa's husband, Edward Affainie, confirmed to e.tv Ghana that the new bouncy baby girl was born in New York at 11:06am (ET) on the morning of Saturday the 3rd of December 2011. Both Dzifa and the baby are doing well.

Dzifa had been missing from etvgh's screens for several months now prompting Station Manger, JOT Agyeman, to release a statement to viewers earlier this year. Since then, there had been speculation that Dzifa was expecting.

This is Dzifa’s third girl since, as she is already mother to two lovely girls aged four and seven respectively.

Although Dzifa Smith is widely known for her television work, she has also worked as a model and radio presenter. Formerly a news anchor on Kokomlemle-based Top Radio, she had various stints at other local radio stations before she landed a role at TV Africa. There, she hosted the station’s award-winning flagship program Obaa Mmo and other programs including Day Break. She also read the news in both English and Akan for the network.

Dzifa then transferred to e.tv Ghana where she gained notoriety as a compelling interviewer as host of The Late Nite Celebrity Show. The panache she displayed as host earned her an RTP Award earlier this year in the Most Promising Presenter category.

Since going on leave, the show has continued to grow under the stewardship of Deborah Vanessa.

Dzifa Smith is expected to return to e.tv Ghana in the near future but, until then, her extended family at etvgh would like to extend our congratulations and benedictions to her immediate family.
