Miss Ghana 2010 ranks high at Miss World 2011 competition

Ghana’s representative at Miss World 2011, Stephanie Karikari is in top ten slots for Beauty with a Purpose segment at this year’s Miss World 2011 pageant being held at the Earls Court Two in London.

Other countries that have been nominated are India, Indonesia, Kenya, Philippines, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Zimbabwe and Ecuador.

The Segment is one of several fast track events that precede the major announcement and crowning of the Miss World queen. The dynamics are such that, a finalist in any particular fast track event automatically stands a chance of winning the ultimate crown.

All eyes will be on Stephanie as she carries the weight of the nation on her shoulders. Together with other 112 queens, they will give the world yet another reason why the Miss World event is the world’s most prestigious pageant. Last year’s winner Alexandra Mills, who only got engaged recently, will crown her successor.

Meanwhile, preparations for the 61st edition of Miss World finale this Sunday evening is at an advanced stage.
