The prices are double what the prices have been in the past years.
This new package was announced at the launch of the 2012 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards also known as the VGMA’s at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.
This year’s festival is under the theme “Recharged for the love of music” and would be packed with activities behind the scenes as well as music events throughout the regions before the main event which has been scheduled for April 14, 2012.
The Annual Festival, organised by Charterhouse Ghana in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture and sponsored by Vodafone will see Nominee Jams in Takoradi and Kumasi. There would also be VGMA Club parties in all the regions ahead of the main event.
Executive Director of Charterhouse, Theresa Ayoade speaking at the launch indicated that “this year, we’re taking the VGMA’s to the people. With the theme ‘Recharged, for the love of music’, we aim to deliver a well-rounded music experience from the launch to the main event itself. ”
Also unveiled at the launch were the details of the VGMA Foundation, a new addition to the Festival that Vodafone has brought on board with the new sponsorship which is aimed at boosting the industry by giving local artistes the support needed to build their music career and profiles both locally and internationally.
Per the timetable available to the Globe Entertainment, Nominees would be announced on February 27 and voting would begin on March 1.
There would be a Nominee Concert in Takoradi on March 10 and the same would be replicated in Kumasi on March 24.
