Illegal private institutions on the rise - Gov't

Government says the proliferation of illegal private tertiary institutions in the country is becoming alarming and requires immediate attention.

It has therefore asked the conference of heads of private universities of Ghana to support the National Accreditation Board flush out such illegal institutions that are selling fake degrees to students.

The Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Council for Tertiary Education, Paul Dzandu said on the sidelines of the 17th congregation of the Valley View University at Oyibi that his outfit will not condone private institutions refusing to do the right thing.

As part of efforts to curb the trend, the National Council for Tertiary Education has set up private universities desk to handle such issues.
