CHASS warns of imminent classroom congestion
The Heads of some Senior High Schools have warned of imminent congestion in their schools with students likely to fight for the existing classrooms from the next academic year.
According to them, there are no alternative places as construction works on new classroom blocks are yet to be completed.
In some cases the construction works have completely stalled due to various reasons.
The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools says about 40 percent of schools are without classrooms for students entering into their fourth year under the four year SHS program.
Although the program has been reversed to three years, CHASS says many schools are still over burdened by huge student numbers.
