Airtel presents "Friendzy" promotion awards to first group of winners

Airtel Ghana has presented a cheque for GH¢10,000 to the winner of the first part of the Airtel Friendzy Promotion it started on December 1, 2011.
The mobile operator also presented 10 Samsung galaxy tabs and a cash prize of GH¢2,500 each to the other nine group winners of the competition.
The Ericus group of East Legon, with 38 members, emerged winners of the competition with the highest points in draws, followed by the other nine groups.
The Senior Marketing Manager in charge of Usage and Retention at Airtel Ghana, Mr Kingsley Bennett, said the promotion sought to give back to customers, by rewarding them for their recharges and usage of all the services on the network, and attract new
customers to the network.
Mr Kingsley added that one could take part in this game either as an individual or a group and that Airtel emphasised on group membership because of the culture of communal living in Ghana. Membership and participation in the competition is free.
He called on all individuals to grab the opportunity to take part in the competition which he said would run for an additional 10 weeks and end on February 29, 2012.
The Leader and Founder of the group, Eric Mensa, said he was not surprised that they had emerged winners in this competition because “I saw the whole thing coming.”
He added that they were optimistic they would win the grand prize, valued at GH¢32,500.
An official of the Ghana Gaming Authority said he was satisfied with the processes involved in announcing the winners.
