Air Namibia expands in business

Air Namibia has recorded increment in demand for its services across the continent. The company has officially declared its business module starting from the 1st of October 2011. This will enable commuters, transit through Windhoek without transit visas in only 60 minutes.

Air Namibia has been in existence since 1947 as South West air transport and commenced operation in Ghana on the 21st of November 2009. The company has been operating in the country since.

Air Namibia recorded a total sales growth by contributions from its agents of about 40%. Due to this growth, the airline has created a new business module- Accra to Windhoek and beyond.

As this new module takes effect from the 1st of October, 2011, all Air Namibia flights will originate from Windhoek. The hub will aggregate traffic and result in more destinations, and frequencies.

Instead of the current four flights a week, commuters will now have the opportunity to travel 6 times apart from Saturday.

According to the West African manager of air Namibia, Peter O. Addai, passengers can now transit without visa in only 60 minutes.

Although the company is bringing on board a lot of attractive packages by offering 42kg to business class passengers, 32kg to economy class passengers, new equipments, and online check-in from Accra as well as drop off baggage at the airport, the company is still facing some difficulties.

Air Namibia says this is just the beginning of good things to come as plans are far advanced, to start issuing visa’s in the country so that traveling to other country for visa’s will be a thing of the past.
